July 14, 2020 Weekly Stakeholder UpdateThis week’s announcements:

1. NCSS has extended the deadline to select your child’s instructional model for the 2020-2021 school year until Monday, July 20. You may direct questions regarding instructional models to [email protected]. 2. NCSS had added additional pickup and delivery locations to the Free Summer Meal Distribution Program. Read our press release for details at https://www.newtoncountyschools.org/departments/public_relations/news/n_c_s_s_adds_additional_meal_distribution_sites

3. As we reported last week, the Newton County Board of Education voted to amend the official school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. You can find the calendar on the following webpage: https://www.newtoncountyschools.org/calendars

4. The Newton County School System continually receives guidance and updates regarding the reopening of schools from the CDC and the Georgia Department of Public Health. In fact, the Georgia Department of Education along with the Georgia Department of Public Health recently updated their guidelines just this week to include a decision tree and a link to self-check symptoms and monitor your health.
