NCSS Announces PROBE College Fair for High School Students
Posted on 08/26/2022
PROBE College FairThe highly anticipated Probe College Tour is back this month with opportunities for Newton County School System (NCSS) high school students. Representatives from colleges and universities are eager to meet NCSS high schoolers on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newton College & Career Academy (NCCA).

Probe is a known leader in offering exposure to secondary education opportunities to high school students. This year’s face-to-face fair at NCCA will allow unparalleled connections for students and college representatives.

“We remain committed to offering safe events and recognize a face-to-face approach has unique benefits for participants,” says Clint Hobbs, Probe Executive Director.

All students will need to pre-register on the Probe website to get their unique QR code. Through a touchless experience, students can share their information to get on college mailing lists.

According to Hobbs, PROBE Fairs are a great way to introduce students to colleges of various sizes. Often, a small or mid-sized school may be the best fit for a student, and Hobbs notes that Probe is where students often discover and connect with colleges they are not familiar with.

“Probe offers a great first step in the college selection process,” says Hobbs. “Getting information from a variety of colleges and universities will help students plan for an on-campus visit to their top choice or choices.”

“NCSS students attending September’s PROBE College Fair at the Career Academy will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 60 colleges and universities,” said Grenetta Turner, school counselor at NCCA. “During the Fair students and parents can learn more information not only about the many different colleges and universities out there, but also about various programs of study, housing, admissions requirements, financial aid, scholarships, and campus life. I’d encourage our local high school students to attend.”
