Newton County Schools

The Newton County Schools Social Worker team now includes eight dedicated professionals, following the addition of three new positions approved by the NCS School Board for the 2024–25 school year. Each social worker serves approximately three schools, with a primary base at one location and travels between their assigned sites. By reducing caseloads, this expansion allows the team to support students and schools more effectively. The department’s core mission is to remove barriers hindering student success and advance the Newton County Schools Organizational Priorities.

Our Goal: To assist students, families, schools, and school system personnel in overcoming barriers that interfere with learning through assessment, crisis intervention, and coordination of community services.
