NCSS is partnering with Mercer University to enhance our “Grow Your Own” program through the GENERATE Grant Program. We are excited about this opportunity to support those interested in pursuing a career in education through our partnership with Mercer University through the GENERATE Grant Program. If you have a bachelor’s degree in a non-education field, Mercer has a degree program in which you can earn a Master of Arts in Teaching for middle grades education, secondary education, or
P-12 education. If you do not have a degree, and currently serve as a paraprofessional, they are offering a Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Learning & Development (Birth – K). Some of our incredible paraprofessionals, with or without degrees, have asked how the school district can help them to become certified teachers. However, if you are currently teaching and hold a provisional certificate or a waiver this program might be for you too!
Why should you be interested? I am glad you asked. This is an opportunity to go to college to earn a degree where some or all tuition and fees are covered by a grant---it just depends on the program you select! The total funding covered by the
GENERATE grant will depend on the program that you choose.
