The Newton College & Career Academy STEM Institute (NCCASI) will begin accepting applications for the 2024-25 academic year starting on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
The application link must be completed and submitted electronically by Friday, March 1, 2024. The application link is posted on the STEM Institute website, the Newton College & Career Academy website, and the Newton County School System website. The application link can be accessed here:

NCCASI recruits rising freshmen with a strong interest in engineering or biotechnology as a future career choice. While students may vary in their background and represent the diversity of Newton County’s population, they are similar in their motivation to achieve academically and in their determination to prepare for professional careers and positions of leadership. Students will achieve this through exposure to a unique advanced curriculum combined with project-based/ problem-based learning, FLEX days, and research projects.
NCCASI will review all applications submitted by the deadline. All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive a confirmation email as well as information regarding interviews. All interviews will be held in-person and are to be scheduled on March 15 or March 16, 2024. After the interview process is complete, NCCASI will email letters to all candidates selected on April 12, 2024. The total number of students being accepted into the 2024-2025 STEM Freshman Cohort has been limited to 56 and wait-list finalists will be on standby until April 19, 2024.
